Exercise
Therapy Programmes
are wonderful provided that they are specific to the person's problem and
not just generic. Otherwise we will continue to run constantly into overuse
syndromes and adaptive lesions in the musculo skeletal system which we see
all the time in people who exercise too much in the presence of mechanical
dysfunction. Monitored exercises followed by an examination by a physiotherapist
are the best way of ensuring that the patient does not put any adverse stresses
through the already aggravated joints/soft tissue, and that physiotherapy
combined with exercise leads to permanent improvement.
The
Strength of our Programme
is assured by the very high professional credentials of the therapists practising
at the Clinic. Rehabilitation starts with early recognition of the problem,
sound diagnosis, manual therapy aimed at the restoration of normal joint mechanics
of the injured areas as well as normal flexibility/tone in the surrounding
soft tissue. This leads to designing a progressive exercise programme specific
to the type of injury by the physiotherapist and exercise therapist in order
to maintain the correction achieved during the physiotherapy treatment. This
programme is progressive and continually assessed to reflect the current stage
of healing.
As
rehabilitative sciences evolve
and new information becomes available, the Clinic's therapists make every
effort to keep up-to-date. Each month, there is an in-house educational session
attended by the Clinic's therapists. All of the therapists are actively involved
in post-graduate education.
